Micro Realism is a style of tattooing that has gained great popularity inside and outside the professional tattoo industry and this is because it gives the possibility of creating a small piece with a great amount of detail, technique, elegance and sophistication.

For that reason, Andrés Makishi, professional tattoo artist and resident of Inknation Studio will share the 3 techniques he uses to create tattoos with the Micro Realism style.

The first technique is to work the tattoo thinking that it’s a large and complete piece like any other tattoo.

Even if it’s a small tattoo, the level of detail, color and quality must be maintained because this will give it the impact that characterizes this style of tattoo.

On the other hand, knowing how to analyze the design and create a strategy to start tattooing is essential. What this will allow you isn’t only to work in order, but it will help you so that the colors and techniques you use don’t mix or lose the level of quality.

Finally, depending on the design you’re going to make, Makishi recommends starting by creating the lines and contours to later fill in and develop the complete composition. In this way, you will have more control of the piece and the tattoo will look more detailed and delicate.

With these 3 simple but powerful techniques you will be able to create a Micro Realism tattoo worthy of a professional.

The Neo Oriental tattoo represents a mixture of styles that focuses on creating highly detailed designs with a high level of sophistication and color. That’s why this has become one of the most sought after styles.

With years of experience and being a professional resident artist at Inknation Studio, Emersson Pabon shares with Darwin Enríquez the main characteristics that a Neo Oriental tattoo should have.

The main thing is to start the design by drawing the lines of it. This is a fundamental aspect since it’s a hallmark of this style and will generate a visual impact.

On the other hand, the shadows play a fundamental role since they allow depth, warmth and harmony to the design. This should be the second step you need to focus on when getting your tattoo done.

Finally, the application of color is one of the most important features. This will not only bring the tattoo to life, but depending on the colors used, it will be able to represent the neo-oriental style with dignity.

These three characteristics are the most prominent and the ones you should focus on when creating a Neo Oriental style worthy of a professional.

Skull Tattoo Meaning and Designs

skull Darwin Enriquez

Skull tattoos are an extremely popular form of symbolism seen in both culture and tattoos.
A skull tattoo can symbolize death, afterlife, and rebellion while for others it can symbolize a celebration of life. Skull designs can be located on your hands, arms, legs, back, or neck, however it is important to find the right design and concept that you are looking for.

Skull Tattoo Meaning and Designs
Skull tattoos have different meanings and symbolism. Although the popular meaning can be death, evil and decay, there are others who simply like it due to their aesthetic appeal. Skulls tattoo designs can vary from Sugar Skulls, to Skulls and roses, to human skulls to Grim Reaper tattoos. A lot of clients ask about Skull tattoos, however with the proper elements and designs the skull can portray different meanings. For example, Skulls with a Grim Reaper may portray death, however Skulls with a clock can portray time. When designing a Skull tattoo, I use a 3D program to position the skull in a way that fits well with the area that you choose to be tattooed. This 3D program provides an accurate and detailed result.

The professional tattoo artist and resident resident of Inknation Studio, José Contreras participated in the 2022 edition of the New York Tattoo Convention where he stands out for fusing micro realism with his Japanese ink painting technique.

Micro Realism has become a highly demanded tattoo style thanks to its great visual impact, simplicity, minimalism and authentic quality in details and textures.

For this reason, professional tattoo artist José Contreras recommends using small needles like the 3 RL to create texturing techniques that will bring your tattoo to life.

On the other hand, he emphasizes that to create a Micro Realistic tattoo that lasts over time, it’s essential to work in layers. To do this, applying dark tones that don’t reach black in the first layers and then working on textures and darks is the ideal technique for this type of tattoo style.

In this way, the professional tattoo artist José Contreras created a piece in Micro Realism with an exceptional quality of detail and great visual impact.

1) ANALYZE YOUR AUDIENCE.

It’s important that you analyze your audience, which is the social network that generates the most reach, and that users like to see, in this way you can create content that is oriented to them and to what you want to convey as a professional tattoo artist.

2) SELECT THE RIGHT TOOLS.

To create quality content, it’s important that you think about what type of content you want to publish, what you want to show, and the details that will make it more visually appealing.

Taking these aspects into account, you will be able to use tools that facilitate its creation, such as Capcut, Premiere and LumaFusion.

3) USE ALL THE FORMATS OFFERED BY SOCIAL NETWORKS.

Although it’s true that many social networks have evolved and are now creating new updates, it doesn’t mean that you should put aside the type of content that you like to do.

Notwithstanding Instagram is a social network that is betting on the creation of reels, you can also make various types of content using all the formats it offers. The important thing is to know how to capture your tattoo design and display it in a creative, unique and professional way.

Follow these 3 amazing strategies and create content that will help you promote not only your tattoo style, but also your passion as a professional tattoo artist.

Listen to this podcast on:

The professional tattoo industry has evolved and with it new machines, styles and pigments have emerged to make it easy for the tattoo artist to create unique and professional designs.

For that reason, Zhimpa Moreno, J Luis and Camilo Tuero will share three great tips to use the new tools that have emerged in your favor and thus create professional quality tattoos.

One of the tips suggested by the three tattoo artists is to experiment with new tattoo machines that allow you to create new lines, textures and strokes adapted to the style of tattoos you are doing.

On the other hand, adapting to the evolution of tattoo styles is essential. Knowing what are the trends that emerged many years ago and what are the most sought after today will help you create a unique tattoo style that at the same time allows you to offer unique designs according to the requests of your clients.

Although there is currently a wide variety of pigments used for tattooing, it’s very important that you know what the techniques were like to achieve new colors and shades. In this way you can adapt the color to your tattoo style in a professional and original way.

Knowing what the beginnings of tattooing were and how techniques, machinery and styles have evolved will help you create a solid foundation that will allow you to evolve over time just as the professional tattoo industry has.
